« Den Bosch Golf Fashion Week takes the stage »

Once reserved for the fashion industry mainstream, golf is getting in on the fashion week trend thanks to the inaugural Den Bosch Golf Fashion Week from March 5 through 11, in Brabanthallen, The Netherlands.

So what exactly goes on during a typical fashion week event you ask?

Quite simply, a fashion week is a showcase that gives fashion designers, brands or "houses" to display their latest collections in runway shows, giving buyers and the media the chance to take a look at the latest trends. Most importantly, these events let the industry know what's "in" and what's "out" for the season -- think of your typical golf show, sans hard goods and gadgets and you're down with the golf fashion week vibe.

Spearheaded by Auke Hempenius, the Fashion and Style Editor at Dutch Golf Weekly, and Anoeska Hagenstein, the Golf & Lifestyle Tradeshow Chairman, the Den Bosch Golf Fashion Week was created to make golfers around the world more fashion conscious -- sounds like CNG and the Den Bosch Golf Fashion Week are on the same page!

Players from the Ladies European Tour have been asked to participate in a nine hole tournament, one with a twist. Nine hole scores will be combined with a 'back nine' score based on the player's fashion credentials, as judged by a celebrity panel. Subjective? You bet. Fun? Definitely. At minimum, Den Bosch Golf Fashion Week illustrates that the profile of golf fashion is on the rise, and that's never a bad thing.
