« A Glorious TRUE Linkswear Sighting »
Ryan Moore reacts after he made a putt for par on the 18th green to finish -9 for the tournament during the final round of the AT&T National at Aronimink Golf Club on July 4, 2010 in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. Some companies talk a good game about being 'low to the ground' but from the looks of these beauties, it's not just talk. Chapeau Noir applauds TRUE Linkswear for believing in a back to basics concept and turning it into something unique.
When Chapeau Noir recently sat down with Ryan Moore, who has a financial interest in the company, he talked about how the shoe improved his connection with the turf, allowing him to feel more of the subtleties of the terrain, which he hoped would result in lower scores. If Moore's second place result at the AT&T National is any indication, both he and TRUE Linkswear may be onto something, something big.
CNG Ticker: Graeme McDowell is back near his home turf this week at the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am in Limerick, Ireland, sporting his now trademark cardigan. Chapeau Noir has had a bevy of inquiries as to the origin of McDowell's old school look, but has yet to find out who makes the garment and of course, where we can get our hands on one ... As most of us know, Henrik Stenson wears Boss, but seemed to be saddled in green check patterned trousers everytime we turned around. Nice change of pace here, if only in a more muted colorway ... If we have a single complaint about the hatless CNG favorite Robert Rock, it's that he always looks terribly bored, and slightly offended all at once ... Herb Kohler, The Toilet King of America, and owner of the American Club / Whistling Straights, also goes hatless, with much less success than Rock. As an aside, Chapeau Noir wasn't aware that Muumuu's were made for golf as well ... one would think that the full-time golf addict / part-time actor Hugh Grant, he who practically invented the modern tousled hair look, would have more going on than a plain Ralph Lauren polo, khaki's and saddle shoes, but that's what we got, showing that sometimes less is more ... apologies for the glaring lack of posts of late, but being high summer here in the Great White North, there is golf to be played, barbeques to attend, and pool side shenanigans to get up to.
