Hybrid golf shoe solutions gain traction

April 13, 2011 -- One of the earliest references to a spiked golf shoe was published in 1857 in the Scottish periodical 'The Golfer's Manual'. The manual simply advised those new to the game to "wear stout shoes roughed with small nails or sprigs to walk safely over slippery ground." Concerns over the quality of putting surfaces resulting from shoe "sprigs" soon followed.

We're enduring a weather delay at Fontainebleau GC in Blaineville, QC. What does one do in such circumstance? Shop of course!

Here are today's golf related purchases...

Ladies first - Mrs. Chapeau Noir selected a sweet pair of kilted golf shoes from Sandbaggers - the Amelia Playbill, putting her ahead of Chapeau Noir in the golf shoe count by a score of 4-3. Something will have to be done!

Chapeau Noir selected the Daley Cotton Twill cap from J Lindeberg. Suits CN in rally cap style, a la Per-Ulrik Johanssen from days gone by...
