Tiger Woods speaks. (Photo by Sam Greenwood/Getty Images North America)Being a golf fashion focused blog, Chapeau Noir has made it policy to steer clear of the Tiger Woods story.

Like most of us, I took the time to watch and listen to Tiger speak yesterday, and it is this event that lifts the CNG Tiger blackout.

While Tiger stood at the podium and said all the right things and was contrite and humble, his open collared shirt lay awkwardly against the lapel of his blazer, protruding like wings.

However, perhaps most importantly for a man of his peccadilloes, Tiger wore trousers. This is surely a step in right direction, up there with his return to Buddhism.

The trousers were noticeably too long by an inch or two, breaking the pant leg more significantly than necessary. Perhaps Tiger feels he's due for a physical rather than a personal growth spurt.

Further evidence of the trouser length issue emerged earlier this week, when some obligatory photos were taken of Tiger on the driving range, though he was looking both fit and happy.

Chapeau Noir recognizes that although this is a consistent fashion error for Tiger, it is extremely low on the list of bad habits he must curtail. Here's looking forward to Tiger's return to inner peace and to becoming a better man, above all else.

We'll deal with the trousers later.
