« Puma Drops Ogilvy; Skews Younger »

As reported by a fellow blogger, it seems that Geoff Ogilvy has grown too long in the tooth at the ripe old age of 32 for Puma Golf, which has dropped the slender swinger from its sponsorship stable to focus solely on the younger, and presumably hipper, Ricky Fowler, whose looks might lead you to think he could be coming straight from a Disney teen musical casting call.

Puma Golf definitely skews to a younger demographic in the golf world and the switch to focus on the 'golf 2.0' Fowler is at least consistent for the big cat brand.

Baggy Pants. For Chapeau Noir the switch for Ogilvy is a welcome change, as the Ogilvy-Puma union was always a somewhat awkward pairing because the rugby pant style Puma trousers always seemed a bit too baggy to be an effective compliment to his slimmer shoulders.

So far we know that Ogilvy has a shoe and glove deal signed with FootJoy. Here's hoping he'll find a better fit from another rack. Stay tuned for updates.

As for Ricky, the ex-motocross daredevil is now Puma Golf's main promotional platform on the PGA Tour. Vroom vroom Ricky.
