« Couples Confirmed in Ecco Golf Street, For Some Reason »

As discussed in a previous post, (Fred Couples: 17 Again?), an Ecco press release confirms that Couples was wearing the Golf Street shoe at the Wendy's Champions Skins.

According to the presser:

Couples, who turned 50 last October, will display the ECCO logo on his headwear and showcase a range of styles from the brand's extensive new collection, which includes Golf Street, a trend setting hybrid sport-casual shoe designed specifically for wear both on and off the course.

"These new ECCO styles really caught my eye," says Couples. "They've got the comfort, stability and traction features that I rely on, combined with some great new looks."

Let's hope its the dough Ecco threw Fred's way that caught his eye, because while it's important to try to look as young as you feel, it looks to Chapeau Noir that Fred might just be trying a bit too hard to get there, especially when these kicks are juxtaposed against his conservative country-clubish Ashworth duds.

Good thing he'll "showcase a range of golf styles" from Ecco's new collection. Maybe once he gets back to the mainland he'll get over it, or at least Ecco will 'allow' him to get over it.
