« Payne Stewart: A Photo Retrospective »

Click image to jump to the gallery.October 25 marked the 10 year anniversary of the plane crash that killed Payne Stewart.

In a sport where it is easy to blend in with the rest, Stewart could easily be identified in silhouette in his tam and knickers. His classic attire was only matched by his stylish, rhythmic swing.

Stewart's keen sense of style extended from the way his glove always fell perfectly from his back left pocket to his custom Italian golf shoes with such details as the famous gold toe kicks.

Stewart wasn't afraid to make apparel modifications on the fly, as witnessed during the final round of 1999 US Open when he took scissors in hand to shorten the sleeves of his rain gear, allowing him to swing freely, resulting in his third and sadly his final, major championship title.

Today, CHG offers a photo retrospective.
